Officer Involved Shooting(Driveby) 11/15/14

Today 2 suspects were detained for what the police say was a drive-by shooting. A squad car was parked near Cottonwood and East Planz Roads. late last night, 21 year old Janely Cervantes drove her car past the squad car, and her passenger 20 year old Rodimiro Portillo Jr. fired several rounds at police. Then police returned fire, chased down and arrested the 2 suspects. At which point, they found Cervantes' 3 year old child in the vehicle. Luckily no one was injured. Investigators later found spent shell casings and a stolen firearm nearby. There charges were: Portillo- assault with a firearm on a peace officer, child endangerment and possession of stolen property. Cervantes- accessory and child endangerment. The officers involved have received the usual punishment, paid leave. Officer Robert Pair fired back and chased the suspect vehicle. Officer Jason Felgenhauer,was also involved but did not fire his weapon.
